The Gospel – Shining Light on the Glory of God

2 Corinthians 4: 1-6

Pastor Duke Crawford                                                                         April 5, 2008

Introduction:

There is nothing more important to God and to us than God’s glory.

1. The knowledge of God’s Glory is the goal of the Gospel.

It is through the truths of the gospel that we can know, glorify and enjoy God.

2. To be “Lost is to be spiritually blind to the Glory of God.

The consequence of spiritual blindness is to “perish.”

The condition of spiritual blindness is inflicted by Satan.

3. God uses the light of the gospel to break through the blindness so we can see His Glory.

This is what is happening in the book of Acts.  The gospel is preached and God is turning the lights on in people’s hearts so that they might believe and see His glory.

4. Since God uses the gospel to give light, believers must accurately and faithfully proclaim the truths of the gospel.

Our gospel presentation should have something to do with the glory of God.
