Peace and Fruit in the Storm

Acts 9:32-43

Pastor Duke Crawford                                        February 17, 2008

Introduction:

THE SPIRIT USED PETER BECAUSE:

1.  He was on the move.

- We are talking about more than mere service but, sincere service.- We are talking about more than mere service but, sincere service.

2.  He exalted Christ.

- All we do must be by Him, to Him and for Him, otherwise it is worthless.

- We must exalt Christ through each and every ministry of the church.

3.  He prayed.

-“Much prayer, much power, little prayer, little power, no prayer

   no power.”

~ Motto of Pacific Garden Mission

4.  He cast off prejudice.

Application:

1. Look to and rejoice in the spiritual work of Jesus in this story.

- God may heal physically, but that is a small blessing compared to the work He does spiritually because what He does spiritually will last forever.

2.  Look to and rejoice in the Christ exalting work he calls you to this week.

- God just requires that we be faithful with what He puts in our hand.
