STATEMENT OF FAITH
1. We believe in the Holy Scriptures, accepting fully the writings of the Old and New Testament as the very Word of God, verbally inspired (God-breathed) in all parts and therefore without error as originally given by God, and altogether sufficient in themselves as our only infallible rule of faith and practice (Luke 24:27; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
2. We believe there is only one God, but in the unity of the Godhead there are three eternal and co-equal Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit- three Persons and yet one God (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
3. We believe that Jesus Christ is Himself very God. He became a man, without ceasing to be fully God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary in order to reveal God to men and redeem sinful men. We believe that He accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as He died in our place. We believe He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where at the right hand of God the Father, He is our High Priest and advocate (Hebrews 1:8; John 20:28; 1 John 2:1-2).
4. We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Trinity who convicts men of sin, indwells, guides, instructs, seals, regenerates, and empowers the believers for godly living and service (Acts 5:3-4; John 16:8-11).
5. We believe that man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin and is therefore lost, being totally unable, apart from God, to remedy his lost condition. We believe that no degree of reformation, no attainments in morality, no good resolutions, no baptism, or other ordinances, however administered, can help the sinner to take even one step toward heaven. A new life imparted by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential to salvation. We believe that only those who are members of the true Church (in which Christ is the Head) shall be eligible for membership in the local church.
6. We believe that the Lord’s Supper and water baptism are the only ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation (1 Corinthians 11:26; Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 4:3-10).
7. We believe in the personal, pre-millennial, pre-tribulational, and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones; and in His subsequent return to earth with His saints to establish His millennial Kingdom (John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52).
8. We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in Christ.
